Fractional leadership for the next stage

Sometimes you do not need another consultant. You need someone to hold responsibility with you.

A full-time executive hire may be premature.

Continuing without senior commercial or technical ownership can become even more expensive.

UNQRN Growth provides experienced fractional leadership for companies navigating that space.

01Advice versus ownership

Someone still has to connect the decisions.

  • Advisors can make recommendations.
  • Agencies can produce work.
  • Developers can build features.

But someone still needs to decide what matters, review the results, resolve conflicts and keep the company moving in one direction.

In an early-stage company, that responsibility usually remains with the founder. Even when the founder does not have the time, evidence or specialist knowledge to carry it alone.

Fractional leadership adds senior ownership without immediately adding a full-time executive salary and structure.

02The leadership models

Three ways we can stay involved.

Martin

Fractional CMO

Martin works with the founder to lead positioning, value proposition, offer, pricing, go-to-market, sales, growth, retention, commercial metrics and the relationship between business goals and product priorities.

This is not an outsourced marketing department. It is senior commercial leadership.

The purpose is to create a growth system the founder can understand, evaluate and eventually operate without permanent external dependency.

Sebastian

Fractional CTO

Sebastian works with the founder and technical team to lead architecture, technical roadmap, infrastructure, code quality, technical debt, development priorities and external engineering providers.

This is not unlimited development capacity. It is senior technical ownership.

The purpose is to give the company a technology direction that supports the business and reduces avoidable risk.

Martin and SebastianThe flagship ongoing model

Fractional Growth & Technology Office

Some companies do not need a separate marketing plan and technical plan. They need one leadership layer connecting both.

In the Fractional Growth & Technology Office, Martin and Sebastian work together across business, product, growth and the technical roadmap.

This model is designed for companies where the founder is currently the only person capable of seeing all the dependencies. We help carry that responsibility while making the company less—not more—dependent on external interpretation.

03Scope

Accountability for decisions, not unlimited production.

The precise scope depends on the engagement.

May include
  • Regular leadership sessions
  • Roadmap ownership
  • KPI reviews
  • Prioritisation
  • Team and provider oversight
  • Decision support
  • Risk escalation
  • Progress reporting
Does not automatically include
  • Software development
  • Design
  • Copywriting
  • Campaign production
  • Advertising management
  • Execution of every roadmap item

Implementation may be completed by the client’s team, another provider or through a separately scoped UNQRN project.

04How it begins

First understand the company. Then decide what leadership it needs.

For most new clients, fractional leadership begins after a completed Diagnostic. This gives everyone a shared view of the evidence, risks, roadmap and scope of responsibility.

Minimum engagement
3 months
Retainer
Confirmed after the leadership model, time allocation and responsibilities are understood.

We do not publish an artificial package price before we know what the company actually needs.

Diagnostic credit

When a client signs a minimum three-month fractional engagement within 14 days of the final Diagnostic presentation, up to 50% of the Diagnostic price may be credited. The credit is distributed across the first three paid monthly invoices, is non-refundable and applies only to a relevant continuation of the engagement.

You do not have to carry every senior decision alone.
